She is originally from Puerto Rico where she got her bachelor’s degree of Natural Science from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey. At Puerto Rico she devoted substantial time to social services such as “Iniciativa Comunitaria” (community work). What she reflects on most from these experiences is sitting with people, talking about life and offering advice based upon her own life experiences. It reinforced for her one of the most important aspects of life - to help others, being this the primary reason why she joined SNPhA.She chooses pharmacy as a career because from the time she was a little girl, was drawn to the beautiful white coat and efficiency of the Pharmacist behind the counter. She seen how medications help her mother and her family and wants to help others. She is a very creative person. In her “free” time she loves writing, painting and reflecting about life. She is so excited to have the opportunity to be the historian of SNPhA where she will use her creativity to photograph all events and to ensure that the community gets to know SNPhA vision.
Diana Alarcon,
Treasurer

Casandra is a second-year pharmacy student at LECOM Bradenton’s School of Pharmacy. She is originally from Puerto Rico where she got her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Inter American University San German Campus on the southwest side of the island. She is a quiet person and enjoys helping people, even though she does not say much. She like the outdoor and just getting fresh air from time to time. Pharmacy was not the first option in her mind, but as years went on she saw more of herself in it. It led her to understand that pharmacy is not the same as it was years ago and more opportunities for patient care have resulted. Being part of SNPhA, and this experience of being part of the executive board, as Secretary, will give her the opportunity to better herself and continue serving the community and helping the underserved.
